Turkey Feast

Hubby and I bought airline tickets for Thanksgiving about two months in advance.  The crazy thing about that was that we were not sure if we would still be living in Los Angeles or somewhere else.  Sure enough, when Thanksgiving arrived, we had only moved away for 12 days.  We were barely settled into our new place and had MANY more boxes to unpack, but we were excited to head south to celebrate the holidays with family.

We flew down Thanksgiving Day.  First stop…Chinatown to pick up the turkey.  This year my parents decided to try a deep fried turkey from Golden City Restaurant on Hill Street instead of a traditional oven baked one.  With turkey aroma filtering through the car, we headed back to my parents’ place to help my brother prepare the rest of the feast.  My brother is the chef on Thanksgiving for all of the sides and fixings.  As usual, he did a fantastic job and everything was delicious.

clockwise: yams, green bean casserole, gravy, corn, hawaiian sweet rolls, cranberry sauce,
fried rice, mashed potato, stuffing, and deep fried turkey (in the center)

I am so thankful for such a loving and supportive family.  I <3 you!
