On Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend, we spent the day with Hubby’s family. We drove to Riley’s at Los Rios Rancho in Oak Glen for lunch. We tried everything on the menu: slow-roasted tri tip sandwich, chicken apple sausage, bbq roasted corn on the cob, ranch-style cowboy beans, and apple cider. All of it was yummy, and we were stuffed! I also had to have a candy apple; I wish I could have one now!

Hubby and our very cute niece tried to stay warm under the portable heater. She did not have much patience for me to take the photo and just wanted to see the final product. Too bad I was in the process of taking it.

Outside, in the freezing cold and snow covered ground, there was a small petting zoo. Of all the goats, there was one kid. Amazingly, the kid fit through the holes in the fence and climbed out to get some fresh grass. After the kid got its fill, it climbed back into the fenced area. Life must be good to go back and not run away.

We decided it was time to escape the cold and headed back to BIL’s place in Redlands. We hung out watching tv, looking at pictures, and chatting. We also gave our nephew an early birthday present. Since we moved away, we would miss his first birthday. Hopefully, the penguin will represent us well.

For dinner, we ate at Open Kitchen Chinese Food. Of what I could eat, the food was pretty decent. A couple of the dishes had bell peppers and that’s a no-no for me. Wrapping up our day with my in-laws, we took a family photo. I am so thankful for great in-laws.
