About two months ago, movers came, loaded our belongings into a BIG truck, and drove it up to northern California. The next day, we crammed the rest of our stuff, including three turtles and their tanks, into Hubby’s trunk space lacking car and drove the 350 miles from Los Angeles to San Jose. Luckily there was little traffic, and we made it door to door in only five hours. We made it just in time to pick up our new apartment keys.
Compared to our apartment in LA, our new place is overall probably better except for a few minor things.

Our main complaint is the thin walls between the units. We have neighbors on three walls and can hear them talking, watching tv, making food, etc. It was not too bad until the neighbor we share the living room wall with decided to hook up his stereo system directly to the wall causing a lot of vibration and noise. We made a few changes to our furniture arrangement, so hopefully that will minimize the effects of the sound and base.
Here’s a picture tour of our new place:

We are not completely settled in, but we are getting there. If you are in the Bay Area, let us know. We would love to catch-up, make new friends, or enjoy any restaurant recommendations.
