Laptop Went Kaput

I have been neglecting my blog.  I do not mean to go days/weeks without posts, but that seems to be what has been happening lately.  Not to give excuses, but my work laptop decided to give me a blue screen a couple of weekends ago.  Everything was going along just fine and then BAM!  So, it is difficult to post at the moment.

Here is what happened:
Friday night, I see an email from my boss about working on a project file and then sending it to her over the weekend.  I think, I am pretty much done with the file.  So, I decide to review it on Saturday and then send it off.  The next day, I turn on the laptop and it gives me a blue screen.  I shut down and restart.  Blue screen.  Shut down and restart.  Blue screen.  Start to freak out.  Shut down and restart.  Blue screen.  Scream for Hubby.  Shut down and restart.  Blue screen.  Majorly freaking out.  Shut down and restart.  I finally give up and call my boss to tell her the bad news and ask what I can do.  (Now, this would not have been such a big deal if I had backed up my work data.  But of course, I had not done that in…oh SEVEN months!)  I got the go ahead to take it to Geek Squad on Sunday.  So, on Sunday, we headed to Best Buy and dropped off the laptop.  Amazingly, it was not a hard drive issue and they were able to back up ALL of the data for me.  Thank you, God!

Anyways, since my boss is waiting for a new model laptop to come out in the next month or so, I am currently using my personal laptop.  I loaded the backup drive onto my computer and now there is very limited space left.  That means that I cannot download pictures from my camera, process them in Photoshop and write photo packed blog posts until my new work laptop arrives.  Such a bummer, too, because I have so many wonderful things to share with you all!

Be on the look out for Cooking: Zucchini Cakes, Armadillo Willy’s BBQ, afternoon in San Francisco, Cooking: Crepes and Cooking: Soy Sauce Chicken Wings, but until then it will be word heavy posts.
