On the second day of our trip, we arrived at the Pearl Harbor Historic Sites around 10:00am and the USS Arizona tour times were for noon. With a long waiting time, we decided to grab some food and headed off site to a nearby Subway. When we got back to Pearl Harbor, we picked up an audio tour and walked the property looking at the different displays and models. At noon, we boarded the boat that took us out to the USS Arizona Memorial Site.

After taking in everything at the Pearl Harbor Historic Sites, we drove back into Waikiki and stopped at Aloha Tower. We rode the elevator up to the observation deck on the 10th floor to admire the view.

While at the Aloha Tower Marketplace, we tried some shaved ice. We were greatly disappointed. It was like having a snow cone but worse because all the flavoring sank to the bottom leaving the ice on top plain. Nothing like what people rave about for Hawaiian shaved ice. Maybe Domo liked it though?

We made a quick stop at Waikiki Beach to dip our feet into the water. I would post a picture of us there with Diamond Head Crater in the background, but it is ruined by a half naked guy and a shadow on my face. Haha, oh well. We had a fabulous time in Oahu, but now off to Kauai we go!
We arrived into LIH around 7:30pm, picked up our rental car, and headed to our hotel, Marriott Kauai Resort. We stayed on the hotel side with Marriott reward points (buy 4 nights, get the 5th free) and not the timeshare side.

We were craving BBQ chicken, so the front desk recommended Hamura Saimin. It is definitely a place for locals. We felt and looked like tourists. It was so obvious that the waitress handed us a menu with pictures even though there was a menu on a board overhead. Sad! Hubby was not a fan of the saimin flavor, but the BBQ chicken was pretty tasty.

After dinner, we headed back to the hotel to plan out the activities for the next day. Up next: North Shore!
