A & A Visit

The first weekend in August, A and A came up for a lovely visit.  It was so great to see them!

Saturday morning, we headed to Los Gatos for brunch at Southern Kitchen.  Luckily, we were seated right away.  A ordered the Country Fried Steak that came out on three separate plates.  Quite amazing!  A and I split the Apple Stuffed French Toast, and Hubby had the Belgian Waffle.  Everything was delicious, and we plan on going back to try other items on the menu.

After brunch, we stopped by Los Gatos Creek Trail to walk off the food we just enjoyed.  It was a nice leisurely walk around the lake, where we saw turtles, geese, ducks, a swan, and fish.

A & A

That night, LL and LS stopped by as well for great bonding and yummy bbq.  The menu this time included: steak, salmon, shrimp, corn on the cob, zucchini, and salad.

On Sunday, A & A spent the day in San Francisco.  For dinner, LL, J, Hubby and I drove into the city to join them at Thanh Long.  The two couples enjoyed Roasted Crabs and Garlic Noodles while Hubby and I shared the Colossal Royal Tiger Prawns and Shaken Beef.  Good stuff!

After dinner, we devoured dessert at Genki Crepes.  Even though we were full from dinner, we gobbled the crepes really quickly.

Thanks for visiting A and A; we had a fabulous time.  Come again soon!

Maru Ichi Ramen

After Korean BBQ, ramen is probably Hubby’s next favorite food.  The first ramen place we tried in the Bay Area was Maru Ichi in Mountain View.  Everything was tasty, and we have been back a few times.  There is usually a line, so be prepared to wait or go during off peak hours.  Also, they are cash only.

Goslings

Back in May, we saw a family of geese roaming the streets by our house.  It was so amazing to see how protective the Dad was as he stood in the street while the Mom and four goslings were closer to the curb drinking water.  Standing guard, he risked his life (as many cars traveled swiftly down the street) to ensure the safety of his family.

The goslings were so adorable.  Hubby was nice enough to pull over so I could video them waddling along.  Too stinkin’ cute!

Whenever we drive down that street now, I am always on the lookout for goslings.  But, I think I will have to wait till next spring to see more.
