Singapore: Botanic Gardens, Night Safari

Monday was a designated travel day, but since we traveled over the weekend, we had the day to go sightseeing.  Our first destination was the Singapore Botanic Gardens.  Such beauty!

Inside the Singapore Botanic Gardens, there is the National Orchid Garden (which requires an admission fee).  So many different species of orchids and every single one was beautiful.

I had a great time roaming around the gardens and enjoying the peacefulness.  Afterwards, we had a late lunch at Aoba Hokkaido Ramen.  Good, but we probably should have tried more local cuisine.

In the evening, we (along with another couple) ventured to the Night Safari.  We were happily chatting until the taxi got on the freeway in rush hour traffic.  That is when we all became very quiet because we were scared the taxi driver might get into accident with his aggressive lane changes and abrupt stops.  Scary!

We watched the Thumbuakar Performance and then the Creatures of the Night Show.  Afterwards, we hopped on the tram to see the rest of the park.  We also roamed two of the three walking trails (Fishing Cat Trail and Leopard Trail).  It reminded us of the San Diego Wild Animal Park, which was where Hubby and I had our first official date.    I had a fabulous time and liked being able to see all these animals at night.

By the time we got back to the hotel, it was about midnight.  So, we made a quick stop at the McDonald’s again for a late dinner.  No pictures, but I ordered the McSpicy Chicken sandwich (something that we do not have here in CA), but the chicken had a weird texture to it and was different from the regular chicken sandwich I had the night before.
