Thea Mediterranean

In 2005, A and I traveled to Europe on Contiki’s European Whirl tour.  It was a fantastic trip covering London, Belgium, Amsterdam, Munich, Vienna, Venice, Rome, Vatican City, Florence, Switzerland, and Paris.  On tour, we quickly became friends with K.

K, A and I at the farewell dinner in Paris

A couple months ago, K was in town visiting family.  We met up for the first time since Europe for lunch at Thea Mediterranean.  It was great catching up and eating yummy food.

The food was fresh and light.  The service was great.

Seattle: The Aquarium

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

A is absolutely adorable!  I wish we were still in Seattle playing with him.  Be a good boy for your mom and dad.

A chillin’ with Domo

We headed down to Pike Place Market to pick up some yummy items for lunch from Piroshky Piroshky and Pike Place Chowder.

ham, cheese and spinach piroshky (a bit too salty)

clam chowder in a bread bowl  (great stuff)

We spent the afternoon at the Seattle Aquarium.  I love aquariums!  They are so much fun!

The seal was standing in the water.  Really strange sight.

We were lucky to arrive at the otter exhibit at feeding time.  It is crazy how fast they gobble up the clams, shrimp, etc.  Way cute though.

The river otter was cute at first.  But, then it stopped  in front of the window and took a leak.  Right in front of us!  I screamed “Eeeewwwww” and ran away.  Then, I went back to take its picture to post here for all of you to see the culprit that traumatized me.  Be on the lookout for this one!

We ordered dinner in from Petra Mediterranean Bistro.  Mediterranean food is so wonderfully tasty.

mezza tray:  an assortment of hummus, baba ghanouje, labnie, olives, falafel, and dolmathes

tabouli:  chopped parsley, onion, and tomatoes tossed with extra virgin olive oil, lemon juice, spices and bulgur

petra spice chicken:  boneless, skinless chicken thighs marinated in house spices.  topped with garlic sauce

Good times, good times.  Stay tuned for one more day of lovely Seattle.

We’re back!

We are back from our honeymoon…relaxed and refreshed.  For those of you who guessed Mediterranean cruise, you were right!  We had a great time, but definitely happy to be back.

I need some time to organize all the photos we took and then I will blog about all the ports, food, etc that we encountered on our trip.  To tie you over until then, here is a little photo tease:
