On May 2, we headed into the city for the day with S and K. This was our first time in San Francisco since we moved up, so I was really looking forward to the “road trip”. First stop, clam chowder bread bowl for lunch at Boudin Bakery.

The clam chowder bread bowl was tasty! They had a tomato soup bread bowl that looked equally as yummy, so I will have to try that next time. The bakery makes interesting bread creations, such as a turtle.

After lunch, we walked over to the Aquarium of the Bay. In my opinion, it is not worth the price; luckily our tickets were free, so I cannot complain. The aquarium is very small and has a limited number of animals. They did have this cutie porcupine though.

Since we were at Pier 39, we decided to walk around and look for the sea lions. Not sure if you can make them out behind us in the picture, but there were hundreds of them sunbathing.

As always, San Francisco was a blast. We had a great time with S and K (they do not like to take pictures).

In theory, the idea of posting more words and less pictures because of the whole laptop incident seemed like a plausible thing. But, in reality, it has been utter fail. Oops!

Hubby to the rescue though! He wrote a great post on his site about the Turtle Oasis. For years, he has talked about building a pond for the turtles when we have a yard; so hopefully, we will be able to build it for them sometime in the near future. There are some factors we still have to figure out like the heating and what to do if there are more eggs, but it looks like we have a good start so far.

Any suggestions on heating the Turtle Oasis? What dream accommodations have you made for your pets?
